It has only recently come to my attention that the University of Sussex offers a programme that seems to be designed expressly for me. The programme is known as the MA English Literature (Sexual Dissidence and Cultural Change). I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. Demille. I mean, seriously. I’m a sexual dissident, and lord knows I could use a cultural change.

As you may all be aware, my brother, sister-in-law and baby nephew were in town for the last week. My sister-in-law’s sister was getting married, and therefore there was an insane rush to attend each and every wedding function. It was not fun, except for the parts when I got to see people in insanely ugly clothes and make fun of them. And believe you me, there were many, MANY ugly clothes. Despite the fact that many of the women [...]

I know I’ve been an utter arse about posting regularly, and I’m sorry! My elder brother is in town and I’m teaching a massive number of classes so I’m booked solid and dead tired most of the time. However, a quick number of responses: 1) Yes, I’m totally single and available, anon. However, I’m petrified; if your friend is as hot and brilliant as you describe, I don’t think he’ll be into me. I have no intellectual doubts about myself, [...]

Today (August 14th, but TypePad may put it as August 13th for assorted reasons) is the day when Pakistan and India separated (thanks colonial oppressors!) and became two separate states. Although for most people today is Independence Day (and I have a full rant about this ready and waiting), for me this particular 24-hour period represents a whole new occasion. Today is, for me, Co-Dependence Day. You see, I was at a friend’s house a few hours ago, and another [...]

Is it bad that I sort of groped my sister-in-law’s sister’s fiance? And he groped me back? Because I think there was some accidental encounter which would probably translate into conversation as follows: Sin: Ooops, I bumped into you on the way to the Kung Pao chicken, and whoa, nice tight ass you have there, buddy boy! Fiance: Oh gee, thanks! Your crotch seems quite well-filled out too, at least from what I felt of it when I accidentally backed [...]

My high school was also what Americans would call my middle school and/or junior high school and/or primary school, I suppose. I was there from the age of seven until I turned 18, and studied for 13 years, so make of that what you will (not all 13 from the same school, obviously). When we started off in Class 3, our school uniform was grey shorts, a white half-sleeved button-down shirt, black lace-up shoes, and grey socks. Not slate-grey or [...]

*ring* *ring* Sin: Hello? Friend: Where the fuck are you? Sin: *yawning* I just got off the flight. Friend: Oh, you’re back from that hellhole at last? Sin: Yep. Although shithole may be more appropriate. Friend: Umm. OK. Why? Sin: Well, you know the pictures you’ve seen, right, of the area and all its “historic” buildings? Friend: Yeah, what about them? Not so pretty? Sin: No no, they’re quite pretty in their own ways. But more importantly, do you remember [...]
