More posts to come. My friend, T.S., who’s visiting (and I) have come down with massively bad cases of food poisoning. I’ll be back online eventually, but in the meanwhile, I’d just like to point out that this sucks.

I’m completely traumatised. Three or four years ago, I got my hands on a copy of “The Sims”, which for those of you who have been too busy using two pieces of flint to make fire, was a massively-influential video game. In it, players create little virtual humans known as Sims, and then let them live their lives via simulation (geddit? geddit?). You get to watch your creations play with each other, grow up, get jobs, earn a living, and [...]

Hey all. I have 6 Gmail invitations to give away, so if anyone’s interested, leave me a comment (make sure you include your e-mail address), or e-mail me at sinner [underscore] central (at] [yahoo) dot co (dot) uk for one of them. Yes, I know my parentheses are all over the place. It’s to prevent spam bots from harvesting my e-mail address. Just between you and me, I can no longer bear the guilt trips resulting from my inability to [...]

So, I think I’m going mad. Or at least slightly insane. Maybe I’m just becoming eccentric, but I need to first determine whether someone without a bank balance of eleven figures can justifiably use the word “eccentric” with reference to oneself. Also, can I really be eccentric without first being a Southern Grande Dame who likes to drink mint juleps by the gallon while sitting on the porch, overlooking the strip mall where her ancestors’ plantations used to be? I’m [...]

I’ve decided that I no longer need to keep paying for bloody TypePad, because the level of customisation I need/want/utilise is definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no knowledge of Movable Type (which I love using), nor do I have any idea where I should go for webspace and/or a domain name. Can anyone offer any suggestions? More importantly, can anyone help out (in terms of helping me set up a new page and/or moving all my [...]

First things first. I’m not moving to London. My family is. Not me. The brother and the sister-in-law, and the very cute baby nephew, but not me. My mother and my aunt, potentially, but not me. So everyone, chill out. I appreciate the many e-mails and instant messages, but really, I’m not going anywhere for a while. The rage will continue to exist.

There are two major events of note currently taking place. 1) My mother has flown out to the US in order to assist my brother with severing our final remaining ties to America. As of December 2004, we’re not going to be in the country any longer…London, here we come. 2) Keeping her absence in mind, it’s particularly amusing that she’s hired a new gardener, right before her departure. I remind you of the fact that my first menage a [...]

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal. “And The Phoenix’s cycle had reachedzenith, so he consumed himself in fire. Heemerged from his own ashes, to be foreverimmortal.” Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl (Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum (Egyptian). The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life, the number 0, and the element of fire. His sign is the eclipsed sun. As a member of Form 0, you are a determined individual. You tend to keep your [...]

When one is invited to “dinner”, it is my firm belief that the host/ess should make it abundantly clear on the invite as to what this dinner actually comprises. In my world, a “dinner” invitation generally means a few people, a small gathering, perhaps up to 20 or so people at most, sitting down and enjoying an evening together. What it most certainly does NOT mean, is entering a house in which 60 of the people I most loathe from [...]

My friend T.S. is supposed to come and visit me at the end of this month. While I’m very excited by the prospect of another close friend coming to visit Pakistan (and a la M.P., joining the local camel polo team), I have to admit that I wish her timing could be better. Believe it or not, there are actually good and bad times to come to Pakistan. During Ramzan…well, that’s definitely not a good time. Not because there’s any [...]
